Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill the fighter and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
